Busch Gardens Tampa

Updated 2026-08-14

Kumba, Busch Gardens' longest-running coaster since 1993, closed for good on August 2 after its Farewell Weekend. The new Lion & Hyena Ridge habitat continues drawing steady extra crowds. Bier Fest Brews & BBQ runs weekends through early September. Crowds ease noticeably once Hillsborough returns to school August 11, then tick back up on hot, humid weekends.
